Ipod Touch - Clearing Internet history
BBIRE

Hi guys,

I have a touch, but when I go to clear safari browsing history, it clears it from the history page. However, you can then hit the back button on the browser page and end up on the pages you tried to deleted.

In settings, I have also cleared history, and cleared cookies, but with the same result.

The only way I have of deleting browser history is to reset all settings, and then enter in my 46 digit broadband password to reconnect to the internet. That guarantees no history.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

After you clear the history, go back to the web page and open up a new window into something like Google, then close the first web page window, now all the history is totally cleared! Hope that helps.

I wish they'd add a "Reset Safari" option like they have on the Mac/PC version of Safari.

Yeah, I tried that, but when you go back to Safari, and press the "back" arrow, the history is all there.

Not to worry, another poster has clarified, I think.

You do realise you have to close it after you do this?
Even if you do delete it, but leave it open the history is still held in Safari itself.

Delete history etc. then close Safari.

Yeah, I've done that, gone back in, and it's all still there under the "back" arrow.
