During the Anton and Ola interview on GMTV today, they showed a small clip of yesterday's press conference which featured all the pro couples dancing. They were all dancing a jive and as far as I could tell there were no changes to the majority of the SCD pro partnerships except:

Brendan is now dancing with Kristina
Matthew is now dancing with Karen
Brian is dancing with Hayley

I don't know whether they are the new SCD pro partnerships or they have been partnered that way just for the press conference? But I have a feeling they are the new SCD pro pairings.

That's interesting! I would have put Brian and Kristina together but on reflection, there's no real reason to. Brendan is a judge on NZ DWTS where Hayley danced so I'd imagined they would dance together, but then again that's a good reason for them not to.

I'm very pleased to hear Matthew is dancing with Karen. I hope they do loads of solos! Karen is a great dancer but as she doesn't do demos, her dancing is not as sharp as it once was. Hopefully dancing with Matthew will bring things up to scratch. Bet she's thrilled!

That's exactly what I would have chosen actually, all three couples are very well matched.

Wasn't there a bit of a tiff between Brendan and Karen last year?

If so, then I'm not really surprised to see she's now paired with Matthew instead.

The pairing of Matthew and Karen would of course explain why Nicole was not invited back and does seem absolutely superb on paper. Like a few previous posters I cannot wait to see them jive together.

Looking forward to seeing Matt and Karen dancing and Brendan and Kristina!

I really do hope this press launch was an indication that they will indeed do the Pro demos together..many of us have been waiting for this a good while The prospect of seeing Karen & Matthew dancing together is exciting, so will keep my fingers crossed!!

Yes, there was an argument between them, I'm pretty sure it was due to the 3 lifts during the American Smoothe and the furore that followed. As Karen is a professional judge she quite rightly criticised Brendan and he went into his usual strop.

I like the new pairings, nothing wrong with change.

Out of the three possibilities I'm happy enough that Matt is dancing with Karen. Obviously it would be so much better if Nicole was still around to dance with him but Karen is a decent substitute. At least she's a similar level in dancing to him.

I think the pro dance they did at the press conference was the Rebel Yell Jive, the clip is of the bit where the women are dancing around the men and changing partners, so that might be why it looked as though she was dancing with Brendan.

I just hope this doesn't mean Matt will be dancing with Hayley, as I suspect that will look slightly ridiculous

Matt and Karen are my fave pros so it would be wonderful to see them dance together!

Obviously, would still love Nicole to be around but the prospect of Karen and Mathew will be spectacular.

I'm glad Karen and Brendan won't be together again and I remember the rift last year regarding the lift etc...Brendan does not take well to criticism.

I also remeber a comment made last year after Kelly and Brendans three lift scenario when Brendan said something along the lines of not getting a ten from the other three judges would at least please some of the other competitiors etc and kelly said something like they don't speak to us anyways!!! I felt that was a little sour grapes
