After the reference on the sitcom Modern Family, I decided to get Strangers on a Train. Yet to watch it though, something to watch before X Factor tonight Im thinking.

I have just bought the Blu-Ray version of Lawrence of Arabia.

95% of the film is astonishing to look at, the desert has never looked so beautiful.

However, I did notice in some scenes there were like blurry brown marks on the frames clearly showing, rather like mild tea stains. It doesnt spoil the film though. My guess is that these marks were on the original frames, bearing in mind the film was made in 1960-1962, and that upscaling the film to HD has made these marks more noticeable.

I wonder if anyone else has noticed them?

The film overall, is pure class though, enhanced by a digital DTS Soundtrack, so if you have a home cinema system, then sound wise, you are in for a treat.

It appears that the marks were TV based and not DVD. I cleaned it up a bit, looks a bit better. My Sony LCD is more than 4 years old now, so am wondering if it is on the way out already.

I watched the blu-ray version of Titanic yesterday.

Looked really good, and with a DTS soundtrack too, is a treat for home cinema enthusiasts.

On my to do list, is it worth the upgrade Mr.Giles, reviews seem positive.

(My Tv is tea free by the way so that wont be an issue..)

Just bought my first ever Blu Ray.

Suspiria

The only film that I will put in the 'excellent' category based purely on the art direction, set design and soundtrack.
