Wow first person I have really got excited about this year. Fantastic - really hope whoever gets her for the live shows (jumping gun a bit here but feel shes a cert) will bring the best out of her. Could be a real belter.

A potential winner is Laura.

I loved Laura - my favourite female singer so far. She reminds me of Amy Winehouse/Duffy.

She's pretty good. Clearly has excellent control of her voice and it's so obvious she has got very far in this already.

I'll watch her progress with interest. Loved her audition song but I wonder if she might come across differently later on as I love that track but it's not indicative of the stuff on her own website tbh. She sounds very like Adele on one of them. I think her style is different to how she's come across so far.

She needs to work on her image and how to connect with her audience. She was singing very much to herself without looking at the jduges, but she's got so much potential and could really hit it off with the right people's help.

Apparently she used to have a record deal but she flopped.

Didn't Simon say he was looking for an Amy Winehouse type this year? The nearest so far have been Rachel from week 1 and Laura.

I'm looking forward to seeing more of this girl at bootcamp.

EXCLUSIVE X FACTOR SENSATION 'INCREDIBLE' LAURA TIPPED FOR TOP

X Factor sensation Laura White was once signed to Kylie Minogue's record producer - and is even making an album.

Laura, 21, was last night given the thumbs-up at the ITV1 auditions after singing an impressive version of Jocelyn Brown's Somebody Else's Guy.

Judge Simon Cowell told her: "You're incredible. Your lack of image - it's so appealing."

But jazz singer Laura - now tipped for the final - is no stranger to the industry and has been groomed by one of the UK's top music moguls.

In 2002 she was spotted singing in a bar near her Bolton home by producer Matt Aitken - whose former company Stock, Aitken and Waterman has produced Elton John, Kylie Minogue and Paul McCartney.

Aitken - a longtime rival of Cowell - was so impressed with her performance he signed her up for a five-year deal.

She spent the next year in the recording studio where she worked with producers to put together a six-track CD for record companies in between studying for two A-Levels.

However Laura's dream of stardom was shattered in 2006 when her contract was terminated after recording just two singles.

X Factor rules state that contestants must not have management deals to take part in the talent contest - but Laura has been allowed through after proving her contract had expired.

X Factor winner Leona Lewis caused similar controversy in 2006 when it was revealed she had already released a solo album and was coached by a top showbiz expert. Leona, who now has a multi-million pound singing career, was trained by Janet Edwards - vocal coach to Spice Girl Mel C and Boy George - and made an album with production company Spiral Music.

Yeah he did, rachel or laura fit that desciption best!

I agree. I thought that when I heard her audition last night.

I know it shouldn't be about background history but if both Rachel from week 1 and Laura made it as finalists, I think the public would warm to Laura more.
