It won't even switch on now........was switching on but not getting past the philips welcome page, also the computer won't recognise it when I attach it......it was playing up and freezing so the solution to this was to press the reset button. I have tried the device manager but that will not recognise that it is there. I was very happy with it good sound but this is so annoying,

never seen this mp3 player before, but have you tried using the reset button if it has one to try and reset the player?

If not, how did you pay for the device? if you paid by card, you could root out your bank statement which shows the transaction and take it back to the store. I'm also sure i read somewhere that you dont necessarily need a receipt to return something as some stores don't always give you a receipt (under SOGA IIRC)

If all else fails, contact philips cust support for advice - they may advise you to return it to them for repair/replacement.

So it's now doing zilch?

Assuming it's charged (you have a mains charger yes?) ... when you try and power it on, it does absolutely nothing? No flicker of anything on the screen .... no LED's light up anywhere, nothing.

In which case, there is not a huge amount you can try yourself.

Options:

1. Try the reset feature. Trying holding the button down for several seconds rather than just a quick push.

2. Is the battery accessible to you? Try taking it out and checking the contact etc.

3. Try dropping it from maybe three feet or so onto a carpeted surface. Not so high that you'll damage it (it's already bust anyway) but enough to give it a slight jolt. Sounds odd I know, but this has been known to kick start MP3 players.

4. Try taking it back where you bought it and explain the problem. Even without a receipt, many places will help you out anyway.
