I'm having a conservatory built and want to put tv in there. I have sky plus downstairs on a tv that also has digital. Upstairs I have a tv dvd combo that has a sky eye and digital. The downstairs tv is more likely to be used more than upstairs - so am I best to link an AV from upstairs to the conservatory and use the digital on there?
If so what type of remote will I need? The same as the tv?

why don't you get an amp/splitter to allow more than one magic eye such as this one?

Problem with senders is the can be affected by wireless broadband - I used to have a great picture from my AV sender - now all I get is a picture of caravan from a security camera!

personally i'm a great fan of good old rf cable for secondary tvs if it's practical to run it. i would only ever advocate using an av sender if the building geography made it impossible to discretely run a cable. far more reliable for both picture/sound quality and remote control! av senders can be susceptible to all sorts of interference from walls, people moving around, wireless routers......

Yep, interference is the biggest issue with many wireless products. It isn't going to improve either A bit of copper wire is definitely the way to go if at all practical.

is an amp/splitter the same as rf cable? Sorry I'm dumb!

would these allow me to use sky+ and provide the tv with a signal to watch the inbuilt digital (in case I dont want to watch same sky channel as family?)

thanks again

the amp/splitter is connected to the RF2 output of the sky box (the same socket as you have your exisiting magic eye connected to). it will enable you to have more magic eyes and tvs connected to the sky box in different locations. if the sky box is fed with a suitable signal from your terrestrial aerial it (and the splitter) will pass the digital terrestrial signals through to your tv with the inbuilt digital tuner.
