Maggot in my dinner!!
OMG !! We went out for a meal in a pub which we have been to many times before, as I was tucking into what was a really nice roast beef dinner I looked down to see a maggot (dead and cooked) in my potato, I was mortified I asked my husband to have a check and he confirmed that it was a maagot, needless to say the manager did not charge us for the meals, what is the worst thing you have ever found in a meal ?

Glass in a bottle of milk.
Phoned the Creamery and they came around to inspect the bottle. Fortunately, I always shook the bottle before removing the foil top so I heard the glass rattling and the contents had obviously not been tampered with because the foil was intact. They took the bottle away and returned later with eggs, cartons of orange juice and various kinds of bottled milk. As a child, I found a maggot in a Walnut Whip. |

What's worse than finding a finger in your food? ...... Finding half a finger!
![]() Where I used to work there was a lady who brought around home made sarnies each day. One of the ones someone got had the lettuce infested with green flies! |

Years ago I found half a razor like blade embedded in a piece of sliced turkey from a deli - the manager come out to the house with 2 bags stuffed full of steaks and other bribery type items.

![]() We always used to say "It takes the human body 24 hours to turn food into shit, it takes an RAF cook about 20 minutes".

An Indian restaurant in Earl's Court has been closed by Kensington and Chelsea Council after a member of the public found a cockroach in their food. http://www.rbkc.gov.uk/pressrelease/...se.asp?id=2236
The Indian Summer Restaurant, on Kenway Road, Earl's Court had previously been warned about the state of hygiene on the premises. When officers investigated this most recent complaint they found the entire restaurant severely infested with cockroaches. |

I was in Finagle Bagle in Boston recently, and we ordered breakfast bagles. Now the bagles get dispatched along a kind of converyor belt to the toaster. So we were standing by the toaster end waiting, when my husband spotted a huge cockroach crawling up the wall by the toaster. A member of staff was standing right beside it but simply ignoring it....
Him indoors kept a strict eye on said cockroack and it didn't get into our bagles, but we didn't really enjoy them after that

A cigarette end in a loaf of bread from M&S. We received a ridiculous amount of free goodies after we complained though.

Oh, god that's awful. I would have probably hurled if I saw a maggot in my food
![]() The worst thing I have found on 2 occassions was a pube. Once in a chinese and once on a pizza. That really put me off eating any more and it's hard to phone them back up and explain what you found. I've also had meat on vegetarian pizzas on 3 occassions. |

Ive been very lucky - and ive never found anything nasty in my food. My husband is always pulling my hair out of his dinner though
I have long hair, and it seems to get everywhere !!! I try and remember to tie it up when cooking ..... but i sometimes forget ![]() I will never forget my sister eating a peach when i was about 7 or 8 (she was around 13). She was munching away, and pulled the peach away from her mouth to discover a maggot - which was luckily still intact !!! Its put me off some fruit to be honest. I can only eat peaches when i cut them up on a plate. And my parents sent me a bag of plums from their own orchard, and i darent eat them. I just worry whats inside them !! |
