Hi. I've searched through the rest of the forums and can not find an answer to my problem.

I have just inherited a DTI6300-16 from my parents, who don't use it any more, intending it to replace my Sky+ box. I've programmed the remote to work my TV which is does with out problem. However, it will not work the Set Top Box. I press the DTR button, which lights up, and then press another button to control the STB but nothing happens. The DTR light flashes when I press the buttons but nothing happens to the STB. Even the remote control light on the STB isn't working.

I've replaced the batteries and it still doesn't work.

Does anybody have any idea what the problem is and how to rectify it, or from where I can buy a replacement remote control?

Many thanks.

Yes, it does. I can watch BBC1 and i've found CBeebies for the children

I can use all of the front buttons to go into the menus and change some of the settings, as i've had to change the picture format.

This sounds abit like a problem with the IR receiver, which can be caused by a broken ribbon cable inside....as per this posting: http://www.ukkafka.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=724

Mine developed this problem recently. Try pressing down on the case just above the LEDs and see if the remote then works. Mine was a dodgy ribbon cable like the previous poster said. Took it apart, repositioned the cable so the plastics don't push on it and it has been fine ever since.
