Blu Ray profiles
The quizmaster

Are there any people like me that don't care about blu ray profiles? I am a person that just sticks the disc in the machine and then just watches it. Does profile matter to you?

I suspect there are many people who watch the movie and don't give a monkies about any of the extras or features on DVD let alone the HD formats and as such would be quite happy with a Profile 1.0 player.
That said I would not be surprised if thousands more buy a movie and then find their player doesn't support the features they want to look at.

Without any doubt selling players that could not be upgraded knowing well in advance the P2 spec was the ultimate goal was not a consumer friendly decision.

Personally I've always made full use of DVD extras and owning a HD DVD player it could do the Blu-ray P2 functions from launch so none of this nonsense but hey it's sold a few million extra PS3's, makes you think

I'm not that interested in the extra features, but I make sure that when I buy equipment for AV use it can be upgraded, just in case there are future developments which may be of benefit.
