The new Limp Bizkit album is finally (after 3 years) released today.

But the reviews I have read haven't been very complimentary. Anyone got the same or different views - I now can't decide whether to buy it or not>

Thier latest single sounded realy good, although what is the video about?

Crack Addict, as performed at Wreslemania was really good. I think the songs sound a little harder than CSHDFW....

Limp Bizkit support file sharing as well so they can't be too bad

It'll be downloaded tonight then....

...although I have to say that LB are simply TEN TIMES a better band when they stop just bringing the noise and insert some melody into the equation. This may be harder without Wes there, but while there's always a place for 'Break Stuff', they'll never make a better track than 'My Way'. Sometimes trying to get the respect of the mosh pit is the wrong decision to make.

Spot on Eddie...it's about MELODIES that prove doubters and haters wrong. A loud shouty dirge won't convert people, but actual tunes like 'Take A Look Around' or 'Rollin' will.

Now, is it poss for you to do a clean job to me ASAP then pop off on a DS 'hiatus'? No sledgehammers or owt, please....

What you say is true, FE , but Limp Bizkit started out as a rock band-it was only the media that stuffed them into the box named "Nu-Metal". I like songs like Break Stuff and their fantastic cover of Faith, but I also appreciated their more melodic sounds in CSFATHDFW such as Rollin and My Way (I remember that song being used by WWE for a Taker promo).
We shouldn't forget though that they are essentially a rock band and I think the latest album shows this.

WTF? Who in the BLUE HELL can make any distinction between a rock band and a nu-metal band? The one is just an offshoot of the other.

It's not about 'going back to their roots' or other such bullshit. It's about producing better and better music. If they've pandered to the moshpit then they've pretty much lost any chance they ever had of being one of the seminal bands of their era - it's a retrograde step and the wrong one.

That said, i've not heard it yet so i'll reserve judgement - but i'm not expecting miracles.

Oh, and 'My Way' was the music for the Rock-Stone Cold saga culminating at WM17. Awesome stuff.

Well I've had a good listen to the album now - and will keep trying with it. There are maybe 4 songs that are okay - some dodgy ones.

The problem with it is it isn't thrashing and loud enough - I guess I am saying get a bit more shouty.

It's an okay album but I wouldn't recommend buying it - but for me I am glad I did for a couple of songs.

not true

any fan on limpbizkit will like this album and i say go get it. (if you have the money)

also GG what did you think of the dvd that came with it ??

i cant wait for the full 4hr poop dvd

p.s i downloaded the album about 6 days before it came out to see what it would be like, and i still bought it.

so no matter how those record people say downloading is making them lose money is not true.

i pre-ordered mine like 3 months ago anyway

i recomend this album to true limpbizkit fans and if you are not sure download it and if you like then buy it.

Hey stop cutting promos on me, FE! I'm only a jobber here!

I think the distinction between rock and nu-metal is important; nu metal has become a tired rephrasing of what is essentially metal/rock for little kids. Limp Bizkit may have been unfortunate to have released albums back in 2001 at the same time as Papa roach and Linkin Park., but the album was esentially bubble-gum rock for kids, which critics caled "Nu-metal" coz it had influences of rap.

This was quite far removed from Limp Bizkit's first two albums, which led may to see them as the next Nirvana, bringing rock back to the mainstream. They were never "Pop" though, not with songs like Break Stuff and Nookie! At the same time as Korn they were producing quality alternative rock music without going OTT. Now, if "going back to their roots" is a bad thing then I am very mistaken. By doing this they will be creating "better and better music", not by rehashing their old stuff, but by blending the best of their previous efforts and adding a new layer to that.

Not just going down the Linkin Park route of creating fake "angsty" rock.........
