New TV Setup - Help Please!

Hi, please can someone give me some advice on our TV setup!
We have recently bought a new TV and need to connect a VCR, standard Sky box and a analogue satellite box. This was all set up on the previous old-style TV and worked fine, being able to record from both satellite systems or terrestrial TV, and we could more or less do away with the TV remote, controlling all functions from the Sky remote.
I have connected everything into the same places as before, but now a) when the video is switched on or records a programme, the television switches to the channel it is on and b) the Sky remote does not change from terrestrial to Sky, but works the other way round.
We have a Samsung 32" LCD TV, Panasonic VCR, Amstrad Sky box and Nokia analogue satellite box, all connected with Scart leads.
Thanks in advance!

On your old TV your VCR was connected to a scart socket which didn't wake up when it received a signal. On your new TV your VCR is connected to a scart socket which does wake up (i.e. autoswitch) when it receives a signal. This is normally perceived as a good thing. There may be something in your TV setup to switch this off - alternatively, you can snip one of the wires in the scart cable (can't remember which one at the moment). Seems a bit drastic though, turning off a feature that you have at last managed to activate...

Have you programmed your Sky remote to control your new TV? If not, look up the correct code for your TV in your Sky manual, on the web, by pressing the red button when viewing a Sky channel or by phoning Sky.
