I took a few notes:
He was wearing gold shoes.
They showed a few clips of his comments on SCD – e.g. saying that Willie was like a walrus.
He didn’t make any personal comments about anyone during the interview though.
He just said that he is not an acid-tongued, queeny bitch – he is just passionate about dance and honest. Arlene is really the nasty judge!
He is qualified to judge as a director/choreographer, having worked his way up from the bottom.
In real life he nurtures dance companies.
He talked a bit about his childhood – alcoholic Dad – abusive – sadly still an alcoholic.
Used to dress up at home.
Did an apprenticeship as a cook – met a very rich ‘sugar daddy’ and that financed his training and enabled him to leave Australia.
He wanted to write the book and be absolutely honest so that the media could not take any of the details and ‘bombastically’ put their spin on events.
He is gay, but he was married at one point.
They showed a few photos and also talked about his new show opening soon at the Lyric.
Sounds like the book will be a great read – out today and he mentioned the signing next week.
