We had a power surge in my area 2 months ago and the Electricity company forked out to replace items that were damaged. I had loads of stuff replaced at the time but, now my TV has started doing strange things. Sometimes it won't switch on and it turns off on its own too. I can go days with no TV.

The compay replacing or repairing the damaged good are saying this is not a fault caused by the surge it's a fault with the equipment.
Why after 2 months would my TV 3yrs old start doing this when it's never had a fault before the surge.

Also, I was advised by an electrician that goods can still break for months after a power surge as the chips inside can be damaged due to the high voltage, but not nessesarily break at the time. I need to know if this is true.
Any and all information would be helpfull.
