Reuben Sandwich
I love em and eat a few each US visit. It brings back memories of when I lived there. Obviously, the corned beef here isnt quite the same
.Does anyone know of an alternative that we might have here that's similar? See sandwich here. You know... I just saw you can use pastrami but would prefer the real thing. |

I thought they used Pastrami? You can get that in most supermarkets although you may be best off going to a deli.

I think that's what I'm going to have to use but the original ones I had were corned beef. I remember being freaked out as I was expecting our corned beef! |

he he, that would be quite a different experience
![]() I'm not too sure, but I think the main difference is that pastrami is more heavily spiced and has the peppered coating. |

Rick Stein gave a recipe for traditional Corned Beef in his Food Heroes series.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/da...hc_70550.shtml Still, probably not the same as deli type Pastrami or Corned Beef though. |

Got to go to New York for one. It's not the same anywhere else. |

well, I'm going to give it a try for lunch tomorrow seen as I'm on my own. I'll see if I can get pastrami with less peppers but there's so much BAD pastrami out there.
I'll let you know
