Nitin Sawhney:Human
Done a search couldnt find a thread already on this.
I was watching the music room on CNN purely by accident the other night when they done a review of this album, ansd also had the man on tlking himself. He's an asian guy, I'd seen the album before in HMV or somewhere the cover looked interesting, but as I hadnt heard anything by him I didnt buy it. Has anyone got this album? I was really surprised how good the tracks were . He played a riff in the interview and it was great, he plays guitar and keyboard, very talented. I'm gonna buy it and anyone interested in a sort of asian, crossover music will like it too!!

Nitin Sawhney.
First came across him when he sang on Sting's album. Like him a lot, though not heard this one yet. Glad someone who is able to escape the mainstream is willing to own up to it. |

The weirder the better, I think that good music is good music, If I like it I'll try it, except pop music and rap, it's not my thing but I still appreciate it although I dont buy it. I work with a lot of Pakistani guys and listen to some of the music but I like when it has a kinda crossover feel to it, like Kula Shaker, the second album was much better I thought because it had more asian or Indian influences on it. Maybe you should check it out Mazrim, you'll like it guarantee it.

It's a good album.
He was nominated for the Mercury Music award a few years ago and you may have come across his music on "chill-out" compilations. |

Got an album put together by one of my clients son. I was expecting traditional Bhangra but got a new outlook from what he sent me.
My client also sent me 2 albums, 1 by Nusrat Fatch Ali Khan - Magic Touch and The best of Apache Indian. Well worth listening to.

Haven't heard "Human", but I liked Sawhney's last album "Prophesy". I'd also recommend Prem Joshua - the album "Dance of Shakti" is very good IMO.
