I am thinking about getting some sort of device to upscale my Virgin cable output to HDMI.What do you guys think of this device? Will it work? I have a HD TV.

A complete waste of time and money, your TV already upscales everything it self - ensure your VM box is connected by RGB SCART (not Composite), and it will be as good a picture as it can be.

As Nigel says your TV does the upscaling anyway so would have to be particularly rubbish at it to make you want to introduce yet another box into the mix. And with no guarantee it will make any difference anyway.

Also if you have a 1080 HD TV you have even more cause to reject this device. It only upscales to 720. So your TV will still be processing the signal to upscale it yet again to 1080. Never a good idea really to use more processing than is absolutely necessary.
