Go for the Logitech mm50 speakers. You will be amazed how good they sound. They have a built in rechargeable battery as well, which will run for 10 hours.

Ah right cheers for that i'll have a look at them, thats what i want, a portable, battery and mains operated speaker system
I would recommend you JBL OnStage Micro Portable Loudspeaker Dock for iPod. It’s not much bigger than an ipod.
One touch increases or decreases the volume; one touch mutes or unmutes the system. And JBL On Stage Micro remembers your previous settings when the system is powered on. so. It's very easy to use. I let you know the store http://www.blueunplugged.com/c.aspx?c=49068
where various type of speakers are available in reasonable price. You can search as per your need.
I agree with the above the little OnStage is brilliant, you will not believe the sound that comes out of it. A really solid feel to it, not flimsy at all. The batteries last for ages as well, around 20 hours. Just get some rechargeables and you'll never really need to use the power adapter. It also has a little remote control. One of the best purchases I've ever made.

I have a friend who has this one & the sound from it is excellent, plus it looks good & is sturdy.... if I had the cash to spare this is definitely the one I'd go for...
Til that happens I went for a logitech audiostation express - got it on offer from Amazon for £39.99 - should have been £79.99...
I know a couple of people with the Bose one as well.
It does sound pretty good.
But .... in my opinion at any rate, it's not good enough to justify it's price tag.
Some of the ones in the £70 - £150 range are also excellent. From memory, I think they paid almost £300 for the Bose one. Not worth that kind of money if you ask me. You could get a half decent amp and a set of speakers for that money! (Albeit they wouldn't be portable but they'd sound a hell of a lot better! - as well as being usable for other inputs)
Thanks for the replys guys, the more i look in to this the harder the choice!!
