You can.
But why do you specifically want to use +RW?
Support is always deeper for '-' minus type discs in Panasonic machines and should be used preferentially.
Also DVD-R is better suited [ than RW] to archiving which is presumably what you are seeking to do when transferring from VHS.

The Reason is i have about five boxes off rw plus disks which i was using with my Toshiba rd xv 47 combi .after only three months this machine has been wrote of by Comet as unrepairable . i have not yet purchase the panasonic .can any body recomend a machine similar to the toshiba .allso need to record from sky plus.
