I wonder if she genuinely did cry in that video or if it was a tear gun thingy they use in soaps, etc..........

Tut tut Terry, shouldn't be so cynical in yer old age.......Sinead was always an emotional lass, sure it was from the heart and she just got caught up in the moment.........

If I remember correctly it was done in one long shot with no cutaways.

I saw her on one of those 100 greatest and she said she just thought about her mum and it was all natural. I think her mum had recently died.

Yep, you're right :

Quote:
“Mainly shot in Paris, the video for "Nothing Compares 2 U" was directed by John Maybury. The clip consists almost solely of a closeup on O'Connor's face as she sings the song's lyrics. Toward the end of the video, two tears roll down her face, one per cheek. O'Connor stated on VH1's 100 Greatest Songs of the 90s that it was caused by the lyric "All the flowers that you planted, Mama in the back yard/All died when you went away", because she had a very complex relationship with her late mother, whom she claims abused her.”

I'm afraid you won't be able to hear any of Prince's songs on youtube because of his whole campaign to “reclaim his art on the Internet” whereby he is supposedly taking a stand against violation of copyright laws. The relevant videos have, in the majority, been removed or muted.

Hi there. I have a version of the original video in high resolution, high quality VOB (MPEG2) format. It's very nice.

If you like I can give you a link to download it. You just need the free VLC player to play it. Please let me know and I can make it available.
