"What Video" have, after many days in the labs, highly recommended the Panasonic 32LZD85 (LCD TV). This is a 100hz set at a premium price. Apparently one of it's plus points is the way it up-scales freeview and minmises the artifacts of the freeview data compression.
There is substantial price increase for this 100hz set over the 50hz version.

Question, has anybody got experience of this set and is the price penalty worth it?

My viewing will be freesat HD (come the PVR) & freeview.

Yes, borisd0, I own that set. Not only is the sound quality excellent, but also the picture quality is the best I have seen. It is especially good when watching programmes like 'Lost Land of the Jaguar' which was filmed in HD.
It handles motion with no problem; football, rugby, cycling, and motor racing are all crystal clear.
I have Freesat HD or BT Vision. HD programmes via Freesat HD are amazing. SD programmes via Freesat HD are iffy. BT Vision upscales both SD and HD to 1080i and, IMO, gives the best all-round picture quality.
I hope that helps.

I would suggest you go and compare the picture quality yourself - really 100Hz does nothing much for an LCD/Plasma.

From 'sirpipes' description it sounds like the upscaler isn't very good in the Panasonic, if the BT Vision box beats it - other Panasonic owners have suggested this previously as well.
