Remember when songs had a tune and you could make out ALL the words...

Well this thread is dedicated to unadulterated nastagia

Sometimes you can even forgive a few dodgy notes as in this next one...

Platters-Twilight Time
Great song... They just don't write them like that anymore, let alone sing them...

From the film High Society, how about this one...

We still have this single in the loft from my late father's collection. I thought it quite funny at the time but now it's nostalgic.

My husband plays in a band called Time Machine and they do that one regularly! It's funny when it comes to the bit when they say, "why must I be teenager in love" and they stop and let the audience sing it. We're all over 60+

Wow I really couldn't have hoped for more when I started this thread, some great choices here.....

Adam Faith - Someone Else's Baby http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gzbhS...eature=related

I must admit I'm a little young to remember most of these the first time around, but I used to DJ and we would have regular 50/60s revival nights. On the odd occasion, once I was sure everyone was too drunk to care, I would sing something live but I wasn’t too far off my teens at the time Sadly smoking and drinking took their toll and my voice, such as it was, went years ago… it’s actually quite frustrating knowing the right notes and only hitting one in ten

One of my favourite Bobby Vee songs
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U38b7...eature=related

Though it doesn't have quite the lyrics of 'Stayin' in' -
"He was saying things that weren't true about her
So I let him have it in the cafeteria".

And a sometimes-forgotten Brian Hyland gem.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGO62KzQkxY
Two of Brian's more well-known recordings
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPRnh...eature=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIkUi...eature=related
though the latter version was recorded circa 1965 and again is another one listened to, rather than watched.
(Eat your heart out Jason Donovan, because you don't even come close to this! )

Del Shannon

Just a couple of my favourite Everly Brothers songs
