She's still only just over four months so can't be spayed just yet!!!

I know its all "normal" kitten behaviour and every evening she will settle down with me for "cuddles" and as I say she sleeps with me.

In all honesty I don't chastise her for biting me and never have (she is so bloody cute when she nibbles away on my elbows ) so I guess I need to start doing that!!

My BF hisses at her when she is doing something she shouldn't (as you can imagine with a 4 month old kitten my BF does a lot of hissing ) and she responds to that. Its kind of like we've been "good cop, bad cop" with her!!!

I suppose I just wanted some reassurance - as I say she isn't allowed out much at all until she is spayed and we feel a bit guilty for keeping her in.

Just glad to know its all normal if that makes sense?

I don't think we have the space for another kitten at the moment, but would have loved to had two together!!! I remember reading that by play fighting with each other they learn pain barriers etc and it makes them less likely to nibble on us humans!!
don't feel guilty for keeping her in i have only ever had indoor cats as i have heard some pretty nasty tales of what people who don't like cats will stoop to also my ossie is not a well boy he had cat flu as a kitten and the people that i got him off didn't treat it so its with him for life now so going outside would literally kill him

When she comes into season, if you have a male in the house, you'll know all about it! It'll be arse in the air and constant miaowing every time anything male so much as clears it's throat. And yes, that includes male humans .... not just cats.

As I said earlier our female kitten used to push her bum in our male cats face constantly. Even though he was neutered his instincy took over and he tried to mount her a few times.

I didn't know wether to feel sorry for him or her - she was obviously gagging for it and he couldn't perform

Still... I improved my aim quite well during those couple of weeks. I could launch a slipper from 20ft at them without even opening my eyes when they started creating at 5am in teh morning!

There must be a cat-cat signal to stop this behaviour, I'm trying to figure out what it is!
With puppies you yelp if they bite during play because that's what their litter mates would do, and then you ignore them for a short while. They quickly learn that biting means no attention and they stop. You just need the cat equivalent of this.

Not a bad idea actually (she loves hands and feet under the duvet etc) however at present she only bites me so I don't want encourage her so she then thinks she can bite everyone!!!

I do a pretty good yowl, maybe that would work! Trouble with cats is they don't have any moral sense, and dogs do - cats really couldn't care less if they're hurting you, it's your problem!

That isn't true.

Her behavior isn't "in heat" type behavior.

It's just standard young cat behaviour.

Before we had the older of our two speyed she was in heat (hadn't been since having the kittens) and would not leave me alone (or any male friends that visited the house) but completely ignored my wife (and any female friends who visited).
We found that with our cat before she was spayed. She was really embarrassing with my partner, but i wasn't her type, apparently.

She's still a sexpot even though she's been spayed, flirting and presenting.

My daughter's neutered tom has a harem of 3 females, and he does his best, too. She told me that a member of another forum said that using a Q tip will do the trick of satisfying the female, but we've never tried it!

Indeed

Mine learnt a new trick this morning. Instead of hiding under the washing clothes horse and attacking my feet when I walk past, she now climbs up the washing, waits for me to pass and takes a swipe at me

And I am talking about my kitten Clooney - just to clarify

Try an authoritative voice, works with my tom. If she doesn't make eye contact with you after you've spoken sternly to her you know its worked, she's being submissive to you.

Aww kitties are so cute and I find them even more adorable when they turn into bigger kitties.
