Remote Control Broken

My remote has broke for my onn LCD TV and no codes seem to work to get the sky remote to do volume etc.

Does anyone know whether if i buy like a £6.99 universal remote from argos, for example, this would work with the TV?

why dont you fix the remote you have ?
have you dropped it or sat on it ?
I bet all you need to do is solder one side of the ceramic resonator back onto the board.
its probably a little mustard coloured rectangular component with two legs and one has come off
any thoughts ?

The SKY remotes are 'universal' in a similar way to a standalone universal.

Given that your TV will be from one of a few manufacturers probably an idea to look around the net for the relevant codes for the SKY remote.

I don't know who makes ONN for ASDA, but likely manufacturers include, Vestel, Orion, Beko, Alba.

Onn is often Vestel, but as it's just a name they could buy them from anywhere.

Why not go back to Asda and ask for a new remote?.
