Hi all.
I am not entirely happy with the picture quality I am recieving through my Sky+ box onto my Pioneer PDP 427XD. I have the Sky box linked through the input 1 socket using the supplied scart socket with the output set to RGB and the tv set to recieve RGB. The Tv displays I am recieving 576i when I switch the Sky on. I was expecting a sharper picture but when I dont feel the clarity is up to much but I am not sure how to go about getting the best setting. Should I purchase better scart cable,if so which sort? The specifications for the tv are 1024x768 so what is the 576i stated on the info screen when I switch th tv on. I have tried to find a thread with setting suggestions but to no avail. I know picture settings are a pesonal taste but also alot of threads claim the factory settings are poor. Any suggestions?

Hi!

I have the 4280XD.

I know your TV is an earlier model, but try my settings for the 4280XD for Scart RGB.

AV Movie.
Contrast 32
Brightness 0
Colour -4
Tint +2 green
Sharpness +5 (recommended is -15, but I don't like it set at -15.)
Pure cinema Off
Text Opt Off
Intelligent mode Off
Picture Detail DRE Mid
Black level Off
Acl Off
Enhancer mode 2
Gamma 2
Colour Temp Manual....Hold manual for 3 seconds.
R high -2
G high 0
B high +2
R low -1
B low -1

CTI off
Colour management
All 0 except magenta -7
Colour space 1
IP mode 1
Drive mode 2 (100HZ).

576i is normal for SD Sky via RGB Scart. The TV does any upscaling.

I hope this helps.

Edit....I found this for you http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=814240
