It is possible that the satbox doesn't output anything on the VCR\AUX SCART connection or it could be that you simply have the wrong channel selected on the DVD recorder.

In the DVD recorder set up what video format have you got selected for the AV inputs?
It is possible you may have a choice of RGB or Composite (AKA CVBS, PAL or just plain Video). If you have the recorder connected to the sat box "VCR" SCART and RGB selected then that may be the problem. The "VCR" SCART most likely only outputs composite. Which means your recorder won't see any signal if it's set to RGB. |

Try RGB, can't do any harm
![]() Though if you are using the "VCR" SCART on the sat box I would be surprised if that works. But if you've got it plugged into the "TV" SCART then it's not impossible it's set to RGB. The other possibility is the SCART lead you are using. It could be a one way type. SCART is capable of carrying audio and video in both directions but you can get cables that are only part wired. Mainly used to carry signals from a VCR to a TV. Thing is if you have one of these and have it plugged in the wrong way round you will be trying to send FROM the recorder TO the sat box. Easy to check simply by swapping ends. |
