I have dug some old cine films out of the loft and attempting to view them through our Eumig p80 projector.
They seem good, but I can't get them to display bigger than about 2" square! On the projector screen they're just a blur
I seem to remember 40 years ago we overcame the same problem but csn;t remember how.
Can anyone help please?

It sounds like you are missing a lens for the projector.

On a practical note, cine film does deteriorate with age - if the material you've got is important to you, you should definately consider getting it written to something more robust.

If you have a look in Yellow Pages you'll find specialists who can transfer it to DVD for you - they'll charge for the service, but if it's got footage of friends / relatives who are now deceased which you'd like to keep, it may be worth it.

I am sure too that you are missing the lens. It will almost be impossible to find a lense for a camera that old.

My suggestion is to look on ebay for an 8mm cine projector.

The alternative is to get a professional to do it like the chap above says.

Here's a couple of good companies Cine to DVD or http://www.vt.tv good hunting.

It's possible that damp or dirt has got into the lens - if you can remove it - look through it and see if you can see any dirt/dampness/inside?

The lens will be made up of several elements and it might have built up in the unit on one of those inner surfaces.
