tevion HDMI DVD player
Connected it to my Samsung Plasma via HDMI lead but the edges around lets say a persons face is not smooth its jagged.
This did'nt happen on my other tevion (non hdmi dvd). Called the help line , they told me do a factory rest and that made no difference. Any ideas thanks in advance |

Crap upscaller in the DVD player most likely. When you connect via HDMI the DVD player is more than likely doing the upscaling. For comparison try connecting via SCART to the TV and see if that makes any difference. Unplug the HDMI lead so you can be sure you are watching on SCART. Connected via SCART the TV should do the upscaling.
Another setting to check is what if any HDMI format options you have. On my player I can set 720 or 1080 resolution. If you use the wrong resolution for your TV it has to re-process the signal to suit the resolution of the panel. I can see a slight difference on my set up if I set the DVD to the "wrong" resolution. So may be worth checking. |
