You really are a ranting maniac, aren't you?

I suppose I would have said no if I hadn't seen him in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets where he was very good. If I recall correctly, his scene was cut, though, so you have to buy the DVD to see him.

Ed Tudor-Pole? Oh good god no!

I wouldn't mind seeing a female Doctor, but then again a male Doctor against a fantastic female villain might be good too.

I don't like him, it's that simple. The few things I've seen him do are when he's just annoyed me. Why do I need to explain more than that? Besides, you wanted reaction :-p

vBcode works - but I think that images are disabled.

Looks like Mr Izzard has been chosen for the role

When formally introduced as the ninth doctor by Tom Baker

'You always feel Eddie Izzard knows something you don't, or has been somewhere you haven't been."

Precisely

I think Mr Baker may well have been talking through his @rse - it wouldn't be the first time! I also think that it's highly unlikely that any casting decisions will have been taken yet. When Paul McGann was offered the role, it was just a few weeks before filming began.

OK, they may make an announcement sometime next year but I'd be surprised if we hear anything before the beginning of next summer.

Yes apologies, it looked as though the release of info was the way things were going, not just a tip for the bookies from a mate.

Why are the reporting companies and the BBC fogetful of the two films with Peter Cushing as the Doctor, when stating the 'Ninth' regeneration ?
These films were true to the original story in every way , or it another 'Enterprise' time line thingy ?

Not really - they were a retelling of the TV stories in colour on the big screen. I don't think Peter Cushing's interpretation of The Doctor has ever really been considered part of Doctor Who's TV timeline(s)

I have started a new website and forum dedicated to our favourite timelord at Gallifrey Online. Feel free to check it out if you like.

wattieuk, cheers for the address. It has come at the right time with the new series excitement. However, sites start slow, and I feel that patience has to play a part in order to see it 'grow'.

cerberus, don't say I don't like him, it's that simple', because there are reasons why you are dismissive toward him. I would suggest that the reason you hold him in disfavour is because his energetic, delightfully wizardly manner, and other such applaudable qualities, are those that you lack! Yes ED TUDOR-POLE IS THE DOCTOR!!!!!!!

I would be very surprised if this turned out to be true.

But then, who knows? Time will tell - it usually does
