I'm presuming you are using Freeview?, are you in a Freeview enabled area, and do you have a wideband aerial (if it's required where you are). Not having a wideband aerial (when you require it) usually means you lose one or more multiplexs.

Yes it has built in Freeview. It was ok for the past couple of months that I've had it, but now I've just lost BBC1. It comes on eventually, but is all blocky and breaking up. However, I can get that channel through my Panasonic Freeview/DVD/VCR box. So maybe it's not the ariel, otherwise I wouldn't get it at all?

Different tuners have different sensitivities, select BBC1 on the TV, then go and check the signal strength screen and see how strong it is.

It's on the digital tools menu, 'somewhere', we don't see much Freeview round here, so I can't remember exactly where - but it's pretty easy to find.

Thanks. Found it. On BBC1, it jumps from no signal to low signal. All other channels are high signal. I wonder why it was ok before and not now.

How do you get into manual program edit? I've looked through the menus and in the manual and I can't see it anywhere.

My dad has moved the ariel about in the loft and it's come on now, but still a low signal and breaking up slightly.

Sorry, but if you're crippling your aerial in the loft you're likely to get problems

On my D series bravia its found
MENU
Settings
Digital Setup
Digital tuning
Program list edit,

you might want to use the program guide first to see if you have got a stored version of bbc 1 that works that can be swapped. or worst case do the digital tuning again so it re does the channels.

Thanks, found it. There is no other BBC1 though. It seems ok now though. Thanks for helping, everyone.

Sounds like your loft aerial is the problem.... if it happens again you know where the problem lies (maybe get an outside aerial or improve what's in the loft)
