I buy the small Hovis loaves on a regular basis.

Like many foods now it seems, the size of the slices has shrunk.

Has anyone else noticed?

Still 400g though isn't it?

Can't say I've noticed, but then I don't know which Hovis loaf you are on about as they make a few (they also do the supermarket own brands in certain areas - exact same loaf just different wrapper).

Just seen the new advert (rarely ever see adverts) and it's not bad for an advert.

No, I don't remember them
1895: Hovis becomes an established household name, selling over one million loaves a week and marketed as a healthy product. It is sold in 1lb and 2lb loaves, as well as ‘junior’ 8oz loaves and ‘mini’ Hovis penny loaves.

I don't remember this either -

1925: The “Don’t say Brown, say Hovis” advertising slogan is born.
Do you?
