Best combined monitor / TV
Hi - my teenage son wants a combined monitor for his PC and PS3 for his bedroom.
He has told me he wants a screen that is at least 20" His budget is the £200 he has saved from his job and birthday money. Does anyone have any recommendations ? |

Does he actually want to watch TV on it as well?
ie. Do you want one with a built in freeview tuner? If it's ONLY for the PC and PS3, you could try the Samsung Pebble monitors. Microdirect prices for them are pretty good. 20" version - £147 http://www.microdirect.co.uk/Product...ource=googleps 22" version - £183 http://www.microdirect.co.uk/Product...ource=googleps I use the 22" version with my PC and it's a very good monitor. But .... no use for TV. It has VGA (for the PC) and DVI (for the PS3) but nothing else for using it as a TV. I suppose you could get a TV tuner card for the PC as well as use that as the TV? (Oh .... I did find both versions quite a bit cheaper, but I've never used the website they're listed on .... http://www.techhouseuk.com/computers...ng-2032bw.html) |

I posted this on another part of the forum - looks like I will go with this LG model Quote:
Can't recommed but ebuyer have a £200 22" LG.
Has Freeview, 170 degree viewing angle, HDMI and HDCP. Importantly it has a monitor standard warranty - 3 YEARS. http://www.ebuyer.com/product/139180 |

For £200 that LG looks pretty good.
Built in freeview, decent PC resolution (which is what lets a lot of smaller sets down) and plenty inputs. Although, I dunno about the PC Audio in being via SCART? That doesn't make a lot of sense but I suspect the spec on the ebuyer page may be a bit wide of the mark there .... |
