it turns it self on

hi

i got sky + about a month ago and i have a 37inch hannspree tv . i have been woken about 5 times now with the tv playing . it always happen when i have recored something on sky+ late at night when i have gone to bed . i always turn the tv off at the side. but the stand by lite is always on the tv . it only happens when i record . does anyone no why it does this

I'd guess that the TV is responding to a "spike" on the scart control line from the Sky+ box. Try turning off scart control on the TV or Sky+ box (can't remember whether Sky+ has this option?)

Alternatively, switch the TV off at the wall. You'll save electricity as well!

The TV is detecting the Sky box coming alive to record through the scart connection. It's a feature of the TV. Turn you TV off at the mains socket (and save energy as well).
