Why do we need so many couples ? It will just get boring after so many weeks of watching so many people do the same dance . I think it should be ten couples every year. Also it will run out of celebs after this year

Erm, methinks you're in the wrong forum, Alistair!

I personally think they should have 52 couples, ten judges, a 100 piece orchestra, stage it at Wembley stadium so we can ALL go every week for ever and ever, not forgetting the Red Arrows fly past and pots of Haagen Daas handed round freely.

But that's just me, of course, don't know that many others on here would agree.

Oh, and an unlimited supply of Ripples, obviously!

Swop my Haagen Daas for Pringles rice infusions salt and vinger flavour, and the Ripples for a nice vodka and coke and I'm right there with you

ETA: Just thought, we're mere days away from the first of the rumoured song choices, who's dancing what threads - Squeeee

If anyone finds it boring having more couples and a longer series, they can always switch to another channel!!!!!! For me, the more the merrier!

Plus all the good looking males have to bare their chests, it would be compulsory

Easy solution for you then - don't watch the first three or four programmes, and if you still find it boring skip a few more.

And celebs are being created every month, some come into the limelight, some leave the career which made them famous, some retire.

To be honest, I'd rather they went down to 12 couples. And have them all dance in the first weeks, I don't like this male/female week rubbish

With you on the male/female rubbish - see earlier post re how many couples!

Michy - I think the wardrobe ladies are working on it with Mark, judging by the preview show!

I'm with you on that. What if the 2 worst performers are both male (or both female)?

I'd have preferred it if they'd reduced the number to 12 and kept everyone in until they'd done a ballroom and a latin. It gives them all a chance to get in to the series properly. It's not easy voting for someone on the basis of one dance.

My biggest disappointment about this new series is that they, to my knowledge, are keeping that dreadful band and the wailers that goes with it.
Why can't they have a decent dance combo and get rid of those singers - they, for me, spoil the whole show.

Why mess with a good recipe ?
Money I assume .

Sounds like an excellent idea, that's what they do with DWTS isn't it?

2 series a year; one in Spring (Mar - June), one in Autumn (Oct-Dec).

Ah, hold on, slight flaw; March - June is Doctor Who time...

Far too many couples. I watched the preview programme last Saturday and by the time they had got to the introduction of about 10 couples I was flagging and gave up on the rest of the show.

Too many I thought ...... hope I don't feel the same with the actual show.

My old mum basically stays alive for SCD, but she couldn't keep up with the amount of couples on the intro programme last week. She found it was way too much crammed in and all but switched off.

Hopefully she'll find her feet with it as the weeks go by.
