Kimberley Locke record deal + single
ikkleosu

Great news that Kimberley Locke who came 3rd in AI2 has been signed to Curb records - a Nashville based record company that has people like Leanne Rhymes and Faith Hill on it's books.

Her single was played on radio in Nashville yesterday, you can listen to it here:

Personally I think the song is brilliant very radio friendly, very different for Kim though. I think she sounds like Kirsty McCall in places. Anyway hope it's huge so we hear more from her.

I'm happy for her but ...

Well, guess what? THAT'S NOT KIM LOCKE!

It turns out that it's some other artist named Kari Kimmel, and Kim Locke's fan club got it wrong. Here's the link where you can see and listen for yourself. The song is called "8th World Wonder"...

Honestly I'd rather not subject myself to that again. Whew! This is a good day for Kim Locke.

OMG...how bizarre! I went back to the link for Kari Kimmel today, and they took the "8th World Wonder" song off of her artist page. That is so strange...I wonder what's going on...

jmsjms that link I gave WAS Kim Locke!

The Kari Kimmel song was a different verison of the same song, if you listened to both version you could hear the differences in their vocies (Kim did the yeah yeah yeah's a different way). Apparently Kari Kimmel had the option to record this song for her album, which she did but for some reason decided it wasn't for her and Curb gained the full rights to the song and gave it to Kim, who did a version with the exact same production but Kim's own vocals.

I'm afraid so Jess. 8th World Wonder is still going to be Kim's first single and the version you heard was Kim. The hopefully good news though is Curb hadn't finished the track yet so hopefully there will be some tweaking to at least make Kim's voice sound mroe like Kim and cut down on the production a litte.

I do still love the actual song but I do agree that it doesn't show off Kim's husky voice as much as I'd like.

As a completely aside, the liner notes form Clay's CD have come out and he thanks Kim for pantsing him in the kitchen. LOL oookay.
