I walked down to my local cinema the other day.
Nothing but repeats. Over and over again on a constant loop. A loop that never changes in weeks. I was disgusted so I walked home... |

I don't mind the repeats as I like to watch a film when I feel like it.
The one thing that really annoyed me is, I recorded Black Christmas in HD and when I started watching it, it had that fella signing the film. I don't have a problem with that, but could they not put this info on the scan banner also and not just in the information bar??? And guess what Black Christmas hasn't been repeated since!

What annoys me is the amount of Christmas movies that are being shown throughout the year.
I'm getting fed up with taking the decorations up and down. ![]() ![]() Very good. Regards James |

I'm getting rid of my movies tomorrow, just need to get around to it - will record anything I really want to watch (HD only) and subscribe over Xmas and watch them all - then cancel again!

Sky Channels movie repeats
I have been subscribing to Sky Movies Package since April 2004. Some repeats are necessary, but over the last 5-8 years movies are being screened as much as 6 times a week, and recycled about every 3 months are so, if you add that up....there's not much to watch 95% of the time. I have phoned Sky and mentioned this, and got a vague response.Just to mention that I subscribed to the top package Sky offer. Because of new technology, these days of video recorders, dvd recorders, memory boxes, etc, etc,so many repeats on Sky Movies is unnecessary. It has got to stage that I didn't watch Sky Movies at all. For my Sky package I was wasting £80 per month. It seems that Sky are not interested in what their customers want, only what Sky wants. Sky is now longer practical or value for money.I cancelled my Sky subscription on 13th August 2016. I now watch movies on my dvd(Lovefilm Subscription) also I now subscribe to Netflix, many good films on YouTube, there are also many other was to watch movies on the internet. Until things change on Sky,I am not interested in subscribing to it.

There's 22 different HD titles just today!!
Tomorrow, excluding Premiere there's 14 more different titles. That's 36 HD films in two days!! We are probably some years away from having a broadband service that can satisfy access in the same way linear TV or Pay TV does through satellite, cable or Freeview/Freesat only then there may be a strong case to dramatically decrease the number of channels and do as Netflix, Amazon or streaming services offer, is a catalougue of films and shows that you can scroll through and choose what to watch when you want to watch it. For now SKY has no alternative but to have multiple channels repeating shows and films which enable people to watch or record them at different times through the week or month. For those with very good broadband however, someone who loves films would probably be better choosing the NOW TV option although SKY need to catch up with Netflix and Amazon and offer better quality streaming at least a minimum of 1080p. |

These days Sky appear to treat the linear movie channels more like a shopfront rather than the driver of the movie package...hence the emphasis of the on-demand catalogue, the restart button and the increased use of 'pop up channels'.
Repeats on Sky Cinema still have their place...for those without or with poor internet connections especially however let's be honest you'll never please everyone - for everyone who complains about repeats, they'll probably be someone complaining they don't repeat enough! |

Sky Movies
I agree there could be a greater amount of films to choose from.Yes we can only watch 1 at a time. But most homes now have a fire stick with Kodi. As Ive said before why cant Sky have the movies section like IMDB where you key in an actors name and all his and her films comes up and then pick and pay if you want to pay that is.As for the price of Sky store at 5.49 a movie who is going to pay that thats got sense when you can wait until it comes on Premier or a fire stick. As for choice Sky should have actors movie showning thats sadly died not just stars whos living. As with IMDB you can watch what you want from Robert De Niro for example whether it be from the 60s 70s 80s 90s or 2000 with pick a movie from his section.Personally I think this would be better.I no I would like it.And Sky cinema is good.
