Best 50" plus plasma/lcd tv
I need to purchase a new tv and wondered what the experts on this forum thought was the best quality tv. I want to use the tv with a V+ box and ps3 for blue ray dvd and games so inbuilt freeview is not particularly necessary.
I have seen a series 6 samsung 50" plasma (ps50a 656t1) at a local retailer for £1210 but also like panansonic and sony equipment I have owned in the past. Can anyone help. Thanks

The best TV available anywhere in the world, right now.
It simply IS the best available, by anyone's standards or opinions. Read the reviews. |

Well if you can afford it, like the other answer said then the best 50 plasma tv you can get is the Pioneer PDPLX5090.
The site above also puts the Samsung A656 you mention in their top 5. However, nothing compares to the Pioneer, especially in your situation when you have a V+ box and PS3. |

The 50PZ81/80 sets are both bloody good sets but the 81 edges it on both picture and features. They are both under £1700 and would give any other 50" a run for it's money.
The 50pz800 is in another league, cahsing hard onto the heals of the Pioneer. The sound on it alone is worth more money if you don't have/plan to have a home cinema system too. The styling is also much nicer. |
