Remember you will have to add VAT to any price plus probably handling charges.

Ebay is the way to go.

You *might* still get hit with import duty. But, if you're lucky, you should avoid it.

I got my media player from an Ebay US seller. He was aiming at international sales and was quite happy to mark all the papers as it being a gift. I didn't get hit with any extra charges.

Just make sure you use an ebay seller with good international feedback and contact them first to find out how they plan to ship it etc.

I doubt you will avoid charges from buying from the US. I paid heavily for purchasing my iPhone from the US before it was released in the UK. Not to mention the seller may not be legit, plus you probably won't be covered by warranties. If I was you I would just spend a bit more getting a UK one. It is also not easy to find an Apple bargain, there are not many places that offer it cheaper than the Apple Store.

Agree the dollar rate is not so great now and for the saving is it worth the risk?

If you know someone who is travelling by air soon then get them to buy you one from Dixons Tax Free stores at the airport. The prices are less VAT and cheaper than anything you can get on t'internet. They dont even need to be going abroad. I got mine from Edinburgh airport when flying home to East Midlands - Bargain

Or find one of these Ryanair/EasyJet offers of 1p flights.

Buy a flight to get you through check-in, buy your iPod, then change your mind about the flight and just head on home again ....

Hi,

Curry's have the Apple iPod Touch 8GB Black for £139 and Laskey's have the Apple iPod Touch 16GB Black (2nd Generation) for £218.97

What size touch are you looking for?

Also, I'd echo some of the same reservations that have been made in regards to international purhases, especially in terms of the $ being the way it is at the moment.
