Up until recently you couldn't go through an ad break without being inundated with commercials offering you loans. Since the credit crunch has kicked in I've seen far less of them (good thing, too.)

Has anyone seen the Lombard talking telephone recently?

And Yorkie still advertise, now and then, the most popular one in recent times was "it's not for girls".
True, but I haven't seen any of those adverts for a good few years, so I'd say it still qualifies as a Product You Don't See Advertised Anymore

Double diamond works wonders
Smith crisps
Golden wonder crisps
On top of old smokey
All covered in snow
I lost my golden wonder
to a brave Navajo
HOW
He crept up behind me
And stole them away
Now down in the valley
They're crunching away
Oh bring back my golden wonder smokey bacon flavourrrrrrr

Thank you! I dragged that out of my memory on Boxing Day during a discussion about old ads & no-one else had heard of it. Although I remember the last line as 'oh bring back my smokey.....smokey bacon flavour....where are yoooou?

Can you still get all these, I wonder? And where would they advertise anyway?

Strange, some of those products had legendary adverts... Hovis 'our Dad were a great baker...'

Funnily enough, Bisto was in the OP, and I heard a Bisto ad on the radio the other day.

Birds-Eye Rissoles. "with that savoury, spicey farmhouse flavour."

I remember the commercial from decades ago, because that nonsense of a line.

I suspect Tennants Pilsner was mass produced in their brewery like the rest of their stuff rather than some artisan, 3 blokes in a shed operation.

There are a few more in that list that are still been advertised.
Saw the Skittles Giraffe getting milked advert, this morning for example.

Edit: Wasn't the Milk Tray man supposed to be coming back, I think they were making some sort of hoo haa about casting the Milk Tray Man.

The new Milk Tray ads were on before Christmas.

Some of these suggestions from DS posters certainly bring back a lot of memories...

I remember most of them, though. You don't seem to see many proper adverts on TV these days, except for compensation, online bingo ads, car ads, or other mundane rubbish. Most ads these days don't even make any sense and they barely mention the product that they are supposed to be endorsing. Anyway, I had a think about this thread and came up with these

Smash Potato - "Mash Get Smashed", with those robots. I remember this being on TV a lot when I was a child.

Fresh Cream Cakes - "Naughty But Nice"

Brut Aftershave Advert - "The Essence Of Man", lol. I seem to recall Kate Moss advertising this at one point. I am too young to remember the old Kevin Keegan and Henry Cooper ads, though, but I also remember Paul Gascoigne advertising this in the early 1990s.

Birds Eye Potato Waffles - "They're Waffley Versatile"

Typhoo Tea "You Only Get An Oooo With Typhoo". I think that Kenneth Williams used to provide the voiceover for this advert. It was a very similar soundalike if it wasn't him! I seem to remember that it was a very camp voice and sounded very much like Mr. Williams.

I may be able to think of more, given time...
