Just bought a new TV from Tesco - not sure whether it has a fault or not.
Its a Technika 19" LCD with HDMI and integrated DVD player, there doesn't seem to be a model number on it.
Anyway when you first turn it on it is fine - a perfect black screen (as I havent turned the PC on yet). However after a few minutes there is a really bad white glow all along the top of the screen and I find it quite distracting. Is this normal? *Could a mod could delete the same thread I posted in the advice section please, we seem unable to do useful things like that ourselves* |

Sounds like it might be the backlight showing through.. this 'clouding' can affect LCD's but shouldn't be too bad. Why not go an get it swapped and see if that cures it?

![]() ![]() ![]() I dont even buy my groceries there either ![]() ![]() ![]() Tesco sell Samsung, LG, Sony and Panasonic TV's .... amongst others. Often at better prices than many other places. Are you saying a Sony TV from Tesco is different/worse than a Sony TV bought elsewhere? Idiot. Anyway .... I think the OP may have already resolved this. I seem to remember seeing a similar thread elsewhere. But, if not, and this is a different person .... It has backlight bleed. Not an uncommon fault with cheaper LCD TV's. Take it back and get a refund and buy a better TV. |

What a truly useless (and stuck up) response.

Are you saying a Sony TV from Tesco is different/worse than a Sony TV bought elsewhere? Their food is disgusting and repulsive, its not 'value'. You're not saving anything, you are paying less and getting less. -Chris |

Yes, they only sell the cheapest ones which I have no interest in, and not even at internet competitive prices.
Sony KDL40W4000 - damn good TV. Near the top of the Sony range. Panasonic TH50PZ80 - again damn good TV. Maybe not the best Panasonic made but far from the worst. Sharp LC46XL20E - good TV again. This all reeks of snobbery to me. (PS .... I'm not getting into the food side of it) |
