For BBC4 they are good. Congrats, glad I was wrong.

I caught an episode of this the other night and loved it.

I think I'm fairly intelligent, but some of the people on the programe made me feel like I had the intelligence of one of the lesser apes.

I consol myself with the fact that I managed to get one question right that neither of the teams did (something about "4 Qs in a D" being 4 quarters in a dollar) but by and large I was just staggered at how quikcly they were getting some of the answers.

I'll be watching again.

It's great to have something which hasn't been dumbed down for the masses by silly jingles and the questioner trying to raise some fake tension by telling people what will happen if they get this question wrong.

I missed the start of the two programmes I've seen and only found it by chance.

If you've missed a current episode then it is repeated several times during the week at peak time and early morning.

I know that exact feeling! I normally get a fair few right on University Challenge (not bad considering I'm only 15 and don't even have GCSEs yet!) but getting one right on this is shocking! I've only got a few over the whole series!

That's how I felt about it too! I love the show totally. But I've got two university degrees and about to start my third and I feel as thick as pig poo compared to most of the contestants.

Victoria Coren is great though, very school-marmish at times but hugely entertaining and a great host, she should be on TV more often.

UK Docs sometimes show Balderdash & Piffle. I hope the beeb are preparing a new series of that.

You will mostly find her on poker shows. I think she's on most of the channels (4,5 & skysports)

Isnt the presenter a poker player? Im sure I saw her win a decent tourney on the european poker tour - london (few hundred grand) i think and if its her she presents a fair bit on poker programmes.

Just weird seeing her present this show - something about her mind you (ah the money)

I caught this for the first time tonight and was confused as hell until I figured out what was going on. There was a matrix of words, of which the contestants would shout out apparently random combinations, whereupon they would light up on the board and the presenter would announce "sorry, that's not WordWang" or something to that effect.

Then, just when I thought I was getting the hang of it, the group blue-bell blue-print blue-moon blue-bottle was eschewed in favour of the apparently better known expression blue-frock, or some such thing.

Blue-stocking, the nickname for a professional woman such as a lawyer or therapist.

It had to be that because the four words you leave at the end have to also form a group of 4, which choosing Blue Moon would not allow you to do.

Yes, 'some words may apply to more than one group, but there is only one correct solution', or words to that effect...
Quite like the show, and agree with all the comments about not needing dramatic music and annoying pauses...

I think its a good show. Some of the questions are REALLY hard, I've only got 1 or 2 right so far! I got the one about Epitaphs/gravestones (what was written on people's gravestones, That's All Folks, I Told You I Was Ill etc).

Was the connection numbers that read the same upside down?

Rotated 180 degs. They got it after the first two were presented and correctly worked out (or I suspect, already knew) what the fourth one was.

She earns a fair wack from her poker playing skills.

And is a total babe too. I Tivo'd the show last night for the first time. Had no idea whe was presenting it. BONUS I even got one of the connections before the contestants

I really like this show - i'm glad to see that I am not alone! It's so refreshing to have an intelligent quiz show that isn't just based on arcane knowledge, but requires a bit of lateral thinking. There's too much dumbed down tv so it's great to see a channel creating something that's challenging and engaging.

How she got away with that I don't know.

I'm starting to get more right, and sometimes on the second clue too! Loved the "mousetrap" one!

I think they have based this loosely on "Round Britain Quiz" which they have on Radio 4. Although I think they have stopped it. I have only managed one link in RBQ, which was the inscriptions on the side of the two pound coins.

I managed to work out the portcullis and the feathers as being on the coins.
