If the DVDr only has an analogue tuner then that aspect will be useless however recording the scart output of a SKY box or other digital receiver (Freeview, Freesat, VM etc) will be unaffected.

Right lets try to explain...
![]() Digital switchover refers to the means in which programme channels are encoded for broadcast. And only to broadcasts made on the UHF TV bands transmited from ground based sites. Nothing at all to do with reception of satellite programmes. Nor for that matter how your recorder records data to disk. The effect of switching to an all digital transmission system only affects the tuner in whatever devices you have attached to your aerial. If that is incapable of receiving digital format transmissions then you will lose all TV, both to watch and record. So if your DVD recorder is attached to an aerial and does not have a digital tuner then it will only be able to record from the SCART inputs. And since satellite is entirely unaffected you will still be able to record from your Sky box. If you don't have an aerial or never record from it then you basically won't notice anything. |
