The TV ad makes out its something brilliant.

In reality its just a bread roll with a bit of cooked meat and a tiny bit of salad on it.

£2 for roll.

Amazing value eh?

I don't usually get Subway, as you say it's a bun for £2. If I do fancy one I lookout for when the Meatball Maninara is on offer.

Subway is a really big rip off. Most sandwiches are about £3.50 and they're over in about 4 bites.

Exactly my point. They try to make the thing look like a meal in the tv advert though.

Subway is disgusting ... horrible bread with plastic meat/cheese etc filling.

I'd much rather go to a coffee chop or a sandwich shop for a real one.

It's the biggest con going. A sandwich 'made fresh' blah blah, overpriced and given a daft name... sorry, marketed as a 'Sub'

The amount they charge franchisee's seems insane too. It's a butty bar for gods sake!!

Overladen with calories and salt according to that 'What's in Your Sandwich' doc a few weeks back.

Meat Marinara is not good for the heart apparently! Not everyday anyway I should think.

But the only reason its four bites is because you got it toasted, which makes it lose all structural integrity, leading to most of the sub falling out onto the wrapper

Bloody messy when its the meatball one too!

There is nothing like a subway at 2am after a few beers, even though you know you are being ripped off it tastes good , and you have that small felling off I am eating something healthy (even though you know really it is not)

No, the best thing for this situation is kebab, Indian takeaway, or, if you happen to have access to a friends freezer, frozen chicken dippers

Plastered and Cooking can be a dangerous combo

I think the Subs of the Day are quite good value! Especially todays Italian BMT which I'll be having later today!

You can have loads of salad, and they're a lot cheaper than they would be at full price, and far better than pre-packaged ones from supermarkets mass produced in factories!!

Yeah but take off the Vat, wages and fixed costs and there aint a huge amount left.

£2 for a decent sub with decent fillings put together fresh in front of you isn't that bad.

Some of the pre-packaged crap you get in Greggs and supermarkets is more expensive and contains more crap.

They all do have that unique Subway smell though!

I'd just go to the lovely little independent sandwich shops around who do brilliant fillings (with proper meat/cheese/veg/salad rather than plastic stuff) - the food tastes nicer, the prices are the same and its healthier as well as better quality.

I didn't fancy cooking anything for tea so took a walk to my local shop. They sell home made sandwiches, baguettes and rolls.

I just had the biggest and nicest sweet chilli chicken baguette ever which cost all of £1.60. It was 10 times nicer than anything you get from subway.

Greggs is not "pre-packaged crap" as you've described, all the sandwiches are made freshly in store throughout the day!
Non of the ingredients are frozen and refrosted alot like a certain subway sarnie shop!

Protip: Go with all the vegtible options. Makes what can be a small sandwhich huge.

Just don't do it with the meatball marinara as it'll kinda collapse

Yeah, they said the meat marinada had as much salt at 12 packs of ready salted crisps.

Ditto. And the salt content is obscene, verging on illegal - they must want you to buy a drink with that overpriced sandwich!!

If you saw that doc "Britain's most disgusting food" - you would be put off Subways, just like me ! They don't have to lable what is in their food as it is sold as "fresh". For instance, the meat is processed with water and additives in it. And their bread had transfats in it until recently....
