Eclectic indeed........Mr simmy you've won a prize. you get to drive them around Wales for 2 weeks.

(Can you speak welsh?)

I was gonna put down MJ keenan, I would probably add Henry Rollins to my list now aswell, also Roachford,(i presume he's still around singing somewhere) and Scott weiland.

If we're going into the past, then it opens up a whole can of worms...

Scott Walker, David Bowie, Terence Trent D'Arby, Axl Rose, Neil Hammond - all brought something fresh and fascinating to their vocals.

Right now i love Amy Lee and Dido's style is very appealing too.

Michael Stipe (REM)
Jeff Buckley
Ben Folds
Cedric Bixler (The Mars Volta)
Steven Malkmus (Pavement)
Elliot Smith
Tori Amos
PJ Harvey
Maynard James Keenan (Tool/APC)
Howie Day
Liz Fraser
Shawn Smith (Brad/Satchel)
Kathryn Williams
Chris Cornell (Soundgarden/Audioslave)
(I would put the late Layne Staley as well, but being dead and all that, he's not exactly the best voice 'at the moment' )

Not all of 'em have technically amazing voices, but either knock your head off or move you to tears... (apologies for length of list, I've probably forgot some anyway!)

I detect a fondness for a bit of Grunge in that list.......but how can you omit Layne Staley (rip) from the list for being dead but include Jeff Buckley?
Looks like Chris Cornell has the lead closely followed by Maynard & Michael Stipe........all well deserved.

ooops.... I originaly included both of them and then decided to make seperate list for the dead guys, but forgot to move Jeff.... bless me, i'm a spanner

If it was in any particular order I think Layne Staley would be top of the list anyway... not just on the strength of his Alice stuff, I think his vocals on the Mad Season album were better if anything...

And yes, i still like a bit of grunge after all these years (except for Nirvana), however I like a bit of folk and a bit of death/grind/hardcore to go with it... if we ever had a guitarists (or drummers or bassists for that matter) thread you'd see what I mean!
