Len Goodman on Breakfast, Friday
Len Goodman will be on Breakfast, Friday morning, probably around 9-ish.
What he'll be talking about wasn't clear. The new Strictly series, you might have thought. However, Chris Hollins (Breakfast sports reporter) said he was playing golf with Len, yesterday, and (I think) that "they were in fancy dress", and we'll be seeing something of this. [Edited addtion]: They have now showed a clip of Len on the golf course. He wasn't in true fancy dress. (At first I had had visions of Len dressed up in a yellow chicken suit running round the golf course). He's simply wearing some old-fashioned/traditional golf attire - a cap, plus-fours, and fancy socks. Apparently this was a celebrity golf competiton. Len came 2nd in the competition, and beat Chris. |

This will be on at 7.55!!!
The 7.55 slot was Len, mainly talking about how he came into the show, and plugging his book. And they will be "live from the Strictly studio" later (probably around 9). |

It's Rachel and Vincent
Erin and Austin Rachel talks about how its her first time in the studio, shes excited but nervous. She also says its a different type of dancing to what shes used to! Vincent says hes really excited, but that he doesn't know if he has a chance because he hasn't seen the competition. He says he'll call the presenter tomorrow!! Austin says his daughters pushed him into it...he doesn't have a style yet, and Erin says that shes not going to compare him to Colin Jackson...they cut to footage of him doing Waltz (?) I think and it looked OK. Rachel talks about the group dance, it was finished yesterday...its good, they also show her doing Salsa... Shes now talking about judges, shes not worried yet, shes just focussing on learning the dance Vincent talks about Stephanie, he doesn't want to be reminded!!! Austin talks about bribing the judges!!! He's not worried, he thinks Craig is a nice guy, really good looking!! Erin doesn't want to go out early again! Austin isn't taking himself seriously,....he wants to have fun. Rachel wants to have fun...Vincent thinks that salsa is going to be the best dance so far...they have practiced steps for others! Austin/Erin doing Waltz!! Phew.. Edit:for people who didn't have access to TV! |

Just seen the bit at the end of with Austin, Erin, Rachel and Vincent in the Strictly studio. Gotta say the Austin love is growing - he's got such a deadpan sense of humour and Rachel seems really nice too. Both couples seem to getting on well - the bit of Rachel and Vincent in training looked fantastic and Erin and Austin waltzing at the end looked good - too - I hope they do well tomorrow.

Rachel and Austin both look like ones to watch! Rachel came across really well there I thought, was wondering if she'd be a bit annoying like Emma Bunton. And Austin looked confident in his ballroom hold, I'm expecting him to do well tomorrow.

Thanks for the recap for those of us without access to a TV.
So glad Austin is coming across so well, I think he might be in with a serious chance, got the right mentality, plus he's very funny and charming

There was a lot of stuff there, altogether.
First there was the Len on the golf course segment. Then there was the solo interview with Len on the Breadkfast couch. Then there was the interview with Len and Craig together at the judges' desk in the Strictly studio. Then there was the interview with Vincent & Rachel, and Austin & Erin, on the dance floor. I think that segment alone lasted the best part of from 9am till 9.15, with clips of both the current training footage, and clips from the past series. A lot more than we might normally have expected. I suupose this is what you might call "building up the anticipation". Liked it when Louise Minchen asked Rachel what her favourite dance was, and Vincent seemed to answer for her, saying something about "Rhumba, the dance of l-u-r-v-e, it's the dance of passionne", in the way he does. |

Have got this on megaupload (86.78MB) Breakfast interview part two- Austin/Erin, Rachel/Vincent If anyone wants to put it on youtube they are welcome to, I don't really have time for that as it's slower to upload. I'll try and upload the part with the judges, not sure it will finish before I leave though. Quote:
That'll be me next year probably except it'll be a nine month baby so I'll forgive.
![]() The four month old isn't mine, he's my nephew, just giving his mum a break for a bit. His favourite game appears to be pulling Auntie Katie's hair, so I'm glad he's finally dozed off! |

I'd didn't know who Rachel was when she was named as a celeb, but after the couple of minutes I saw of her this morning (didn't see the whole thing) I thought she seemed very natural and quite charming.
Austin Healey (his name always makes me laugh - why would anyone name their child after a car??? Almost as bad as calling a Olive if their surname is Green) [apologies to any Olive Green's on the forum - I do actually know 2!!!!) Back to Austin (sorry about the deviation) I didn't know him either, but he came across as very likeable, and with a dry sense of humour. Erin will like that, I'm sure. I also changed my view about Erin's new look. Didn't like it at all when I saw her the other night, but this morning it grew on me - apart from the teeth!!! Have a feeling she has seen or heard a few comments about the pearly-whites, as she kept seeming to close her mouth very deliberately. Never mind, Erin, no doubt we will all find something else to comment on very soon..................... |

Rachel is a lovely girl - and Vincent is so sweet!
It did amuse me that Len was trying to be all diplomatic about the public voting. That, and the comment about nasty comments prompting sympathy votes on the preview, make me think he has got the message at last! But Craig is clearly going to be Craig again. OMG I am so excited. I cannot wait for tomorrow night!!!!!!

Breakfast interview part one (56.97MB)
Sorry, won't have time for the interview Len did on his own, but the Strictly bits are mainly in the clips I have uploaded. |

Then there was the interview with Len and Craig together at the judges' desk in the Strictly studio. I looked forward to Lens comments but then Craig comes out with "The public are STUPID", this being because we vote according to our beliefs in who should go forward rather than obvious dance skills. Left to CRH, you may just as well cut out 75% of the dancers and only have a few talented celebs in it. The show would last 2 weeks. CRH, sad old pathetic queen that he is (Julien C's words live in case anyone thinks I am not being PC) has not grasped the concept of the show. Time for him to exit stage left......... |
