New Panasonic models?
Just been into my local Panny dealer and he tells me that Panasonic are bringing out two new models *within the next few weeks.*
One is 32 inch the other 37 inch. Both LCD with integrated freesat. Price guide £850 and £1100. Bring them on!

£1100 !!
Ouch. I paid less than a grand for my 42" PZ81B a few weeks back. Overall, very impressed with it. Fantastic picture especially via blue ray from a PS3. HD content on BBC HD is also very good as is most SD content from the internal tuners and sky+ via scart. Only the usual poor SD channels that transmit at very low bit rates look bad, but then they did on my 28" CRT. The menu system is easy to navigate and and the EPGs are quick as well. If the LCD's are anything like as polished as the plasma's they should be a good buy for those that are still wary of plamsa, or are just looking for something that is more energy efficient. The 42" plasma is rated at 395W. |

I'm glad you're pleased with the Sony, but I think you have missed the point.

Got to agree about the Panasonic '81B. I've just replaced my 40" Samsung LCD with a 46" 81B Plasma, and the difference on most SD channels (via Sky or Freesat) is huge - looks much more "analogue" than on the old LCD. Even Freeview is watchable now.
BBC HD Freesat is superb. I'm watching programmes on HD that I wouldn't normally bother with, the PQ is that good. Only problem is, some of the people look a bit rough in HD. Joanna Lumley is showing her age..... |

I was tempted to wait for the panny with freesat built in, but decided to go for the LZD800 (fabulous telly - great sound - expensive, though) and wait till Humax bring out their HD PVR and buy that, along with the satellite dish and the rest, all in time for Christmas.
