Hi,

I have a Sony KDL40v4000 Tele, Sony DAV DZ860W Home Theatre & Sky HD box..............

Problem is I have 3 x HDMI connections on TV and I have coupled them all up and do not get any sound via the Home cinema system!!!
If I don`t enable the HDMI control function I get sound from the TV, if I enable the HDMI function I get message on LCD display on home cinema to say sound muted on audio system.

DO I need another cable or I am not doing something!!

Optical cable??????

Please help

Thanks

You probably need optical leads, many DAV systems only accept audio via optical/coaxial, and not via HDMI (and in any case, there's no 5.1 on the HDMI from a Sky HD box).

Thanks Nigel,

However this DAV model does have HDMI connection, do I have to also add an optical lead as well. HDMI does video & audio ? Yes

Read the instruction book for it, like I said, many DAV systems don't do audio via HDMI - you MUST use optical leads for that, the HDMI is for video only.
