With the exception of Falling Down it is absolute garbage.

Time for them to give up.

It is a pity cause I loved them back in '94 when they were actually bringing out good tunes.

The download of "The Shock of the Lightning" comes out tomorrow, I'm predicting that they'll be number one in the singles and McFly will be number one in the albums.

I don't like the whole download a week early thing. I'd much rather both went onsale on the same day. It should be number one but I won't be buying until the cd co we out. Dig out your soul should be number 1

I can't actually believe it but even Gigwise love the new Oasis album:

Here's the track by track review -

According to a knowledgeable poster on another forum, the download comes out SUNDAY so too late for this week's chart.

Not sure if the single will be No.1 as Pink may beat it but the album certainly will be.

Must admit i didn't think much of it on the first listen or two but its growing on me now.
Love Bag It Up and Falling Down especially.

Tbh I think Shock Of The Lightning is probably the weakest song on the album, although Soldier On is a bit of a wasted opportunity with the song (a decent effort by Liam) itself only going on for about 2 minutes then the rest of it is repeated psychedelic weirdness. It's their least 'commercial' record in ages. A lot more integrity than anything they've done for about 8 years or so.

Best tracks - Bag It Up, The Turning (brilliant), Falling Down and The Nature Of Reality. There's nothing crap this time around. I suppose Ain't Got Nothin' comes close to being, but they had to let Liam have his little rock out! The words are about that time when he had his teeth punched out.

the first track 'bag it up' is an absolute belter , then it all goes quickly downhill after that.

I don't think Pink will beat it, it's a poor song and is already out, so it'll just go downhill.

The remixes of the other songs are brilliant!

Yep.

But how good is the alternate version of waiting for the rapture.

It's one of Noels most emotional vocals.

After seeing Noel's cover of "This Guy's in Love with You", he'd just blow out Michael Bublé from the Earth. He can do it all! I hope he records a version of that for his solo album, because that was just beautifully stunning!

And I agree, it's an amazing piece. I'm going to have to make another bootleg with just all the emotional songs.

Oasis are back to their best with this album.

On first hearing this was disappointing. Too many sound-alike tracks with a wall of guitar sound and no real melody.

Liam's "I'm outta time" and Noel's "Falling down" were the only tracks that really invited repeated plays but neither came close to "The Importance of being Idle" or the mid 90's songs.

I expected much better.
