Awww, bless him, and you. Why not get a plant or rose bush to go where you've buried her. That way, each time the flowers bloom, she'll be bringing a smile to your face once more.

Not one bit! When I go to work on Wednesday if the boss is still being an insensitive arsehole, then I will definately be saying, she can stick her job up her backside and her Christianity too!

Yes we're going to plant an evergreen that is alive all the time and flowers once a year to remind us

I know how you are feeling, it's one of the most devastating things to deal with when you lose a much loved pet.

We lost a cat in the same way the day before new years eve last year, me and my children were all there when it happened, it seems he saw us coming down the road and crossed to meet us.....

Still makes me cry so much now, he was my 'little boy', which is why I just had to reply to this when I read it (don't post here much but read a lot!)

It does get better in time, as they say, time is a healer, people saying that to me at the time wasn't much help though. I'll never forget him and with time I have been able to remember all his funny and cheeky ways with a smile rather than with tears.

So sorry about your sad loss - I know how devastating it is to lose a treasured pet - I am still grieving over having to have my beloved ginger boy put to sleep in June - he was 18 and had kidney failure. I console myself that he had the most wonderful, happy carefree life and suffered no pain at the end. He is buried in his favourite place - under the shady ash tree in the garden where he used to love to lie. Time is a great healer - allow yourselves time to cry and grieve - and please ignore the sad people who say "it was only a cat". Pets are an integral part of ones family - they love you unconditionally and the grieving process is no different from losing a family member. RIP little one

where i used to live we had 5 cats killed on the road in 9 years by people racing down the road too fast It really hurts, I had a little kitten who had the best personality and was really cool and he got smashed by a car and I was gutted.

So sorry to hear about your cat, this is the same way as we lost our black and white bunble of fluff Scamp earlier this year, I shed so many tears over her and I still can't look at the spot in the graden where we buried her without feeling sad.
Fortunately I had a very understanding boss, I went into work the following day and tried to pretend that nothing had happened but in the end I couldn't, I just burst into tears and got sent home.
The pain does get easier, but you never forget them.

Not at all. I fully understand how they feel and my sympathies go out to the OP. The problem nowadays is that no matter where you live, no matter how small a road you live on, you get these gits with their loud exhausts causing a nuisance and driving too fast and they get away with it. If we did that the police would right onto us straight away - easy targets you see.

And I don't think people should have to have no cats just because other people are so damned thoughtless.
