Not at all. I fully understand how they feel and my sympathies go out to the OP. The problem nowadays is that no matter where you live, no matter how small a road you live on, you get these gits with their loud exhausts causing a nuisance and driving too fast and they get away with it. If we did that the police would right onto us straight away - easy targets you see.

And I don't think people should have to have no cats just because other people are so damned thoughtless.

If ive lived on a main road then my cats become housecats .

But that's a whole different argument.

And after just going out in my garden to peg out some washing and find yet another load of cat poo, I think it's the cat owners that are thoughtless.

OP I understand how you feel. So sorry to hear about your loss.
((((((((hug)))))))))

The day my darling little Pixie died nine years ago a part of me died too. I was so desperate that I adopted a little kitten a month to the day after. She is snoring on my desk as I write. She has such a sweet beautiful nature that I think Pixie sent her to me.

Ignore the insensitive comments. Sadly DS is a reflection of real life. Some people have no idea when to button it.

Maybe, but it was the previous poster who suggested "not having cats", and that was my response. We can have cats if we like it's other people who are thoughtless that cause the problem. If you live on a main road I can see the argument, but you can't even feel they are safe away form main roads either, which is wrong.

Well, I would agree if the OP lived on a main road, but she said the main road was quite far away. And it's not always easy keeping them indoors.

Well I didn't actually suggest that. I said either have house-cats or no cats .

Or do people think just because they should be able to have cats then its a right , even they are pretty sure the cat will get run over?

I'm pretty sure most cats get run over by normal people driving normally, Not by boy /girl racers

Well I was talking about the poster who lost 5 cats to boy racers .

Would you still buy another cat or let them out?

Of course have your cats if you really want them but you can't go on to say that it's thoughtless people who run over them...on the contrary it could be said that it's thoughtless people who let them out....particularly in my garden!

3 second memory - oh that's awful, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Losing a pet is heartbreaking as they are part of the family.

Talking of thoughtless people
Thanks for giving us a prime example
Ever heard the saying there's a time and a place?
Someone has lost a much loved pet and you want sympathy because there is a little crap in your garden? Give me strength!

OP - look after yourself and I think the idea of planting something beautiful is a lovely one.

What's your problem?

I suggest you read the post I was replying to before you jump in with your out-of-context remarks on thoughtlessness and then when you've done that you might like to point out to me just where exactly I asked for sympathy?

Now....... just how much strength would you like?

Once cat is in the earth, before long there will only be bones left - and 'he' won't be there anyway! You wouldn't be 'leaving him behind' seeing as he isn't even there

edit: why not just dig the bones up and taken them with you, saving on the cremation costs and CO2 emissions

Over the top to grieve for their pet?

Have you read the thread ? Do you not think that some of this is over the top?

I loved my cat she was the only thing id see for days and weeks on end , she was my company and in a way my friend .

She died I cried and I still miss her, I had to bury her on my own in a pot on my balcony that was just a few weeks ago .

Now I sit out there and watch the plants grow on top of her and smile thinking about the funny things she used to do.

I do not act like its the very worse thing that ever happened in my life . She was a cat a lovely one but she was still a cat .

No, they leave scratches on the sofa and turds in the garden.

I did kind of panic at first but then thought Ill deal with that as and when . But nothing to report as yet .

I don't think any of us should be judgemental about how much someone grieves. Everyone is different.

AT least you can take it with you if you ever move! My 9 year old son was most upset that we moved house and Snowy remained buried in the garden of the old house!

Well I am sorry anyone who says "losing a pet is the worst thing in the world" should lose someone they loved dearly.

I can guarantee losing a cat after that is a piece of piss.

When I say "should" I'm not wishing or hoping they should just before I get jumped on .
