Don't treat us like idiots, is all I ask of BBC now...”

In fairness they have dropped the "Live" announcement. I think they have to say yesterday as people say it yesterday.

I had to fast forward past Bruce and Bette, I was totally embarrassed. Also had to FF past Flavia and Phil's exit interview. On the whole actually, watching SCD can be hideously uncomfortable. Totally love it anyway!

I would love to go to the BBC to see Strictly but I know the tickets are like gold dust so I won't hold my breath.

What I like about the "pretence" of the Sunday show is the fact that Bruce, Tess & the judges all change their clothes but the audience all are wearing the same and you can clearly see them sitting in the same places as "the night before".

Yesterday's show was too long at an hour, 30 minutes last year was long enough but it's typical of any TV channel when they feel the need to flog something to death.

Looking forward to Strictly....It Takes Two later, always a good show and hats off to Len & Bruno who appear on the show even when commuting to & from the States for Dancing with the Stars.

I admire Simon Cowell when he stood up to ITV who wanted to do the same Sunday night results show with X Factor and he said if it wasn't live he wasn't going to do it.

If you are lucky enough to be in the audience for Strictly it must be such a brilliant night out.

I like the sunday show simply because the more strictly on tv the better and if the results were given on a Saturday we certainly wouldn't get an hour worth.

However I felt the hour last night could have been filled up with more things dance like rather than Bruce standing trying to make conversation with Bet Midler...I foundthat more uncomfortable than her singing which I didn't think was bad at all...loved James & Ola's rumba too

15 minutes content and 45 minutes padding.

I've never liked the Sunday show, and coming on here on Saturday night and finding out the result makes the effort of sitting through 55 minutes of Forsyth's cringing inducing performance and repeat clips of the Saturday show all a bit too much.

The group dance last night was an embarrassing shambles. Yes, I know it's week one, but this is clearly the least talented lineup, particularly amongst the women of any Strictly series.

I may just watch the last 5 minutes of the Sunday show just to see the voting. If there's a decent singer on that I would've missed, I can fast forward on iplayer.

I agree, I find it frustrating when they say 'yesterday' even though EVERYONE knows it wasn't actually yesterday.

They could rephrase things like "when we saw you in the last show, you did this", rather than referring to 'yesterday'. Or refer to "this week's contest show", or something.

They won't, though. And I still love it!

Der Chef says

I have big problems with the Sat/Sun show.

BUT I have bigger issues with the whole Dance off concept

I love Strictly but I hate the Sunday show - it really is all padding. There was nothing wrong with the results show on Saturday, it was great. It kept the suspense and excitement going. The dance off is an awful idea - we know it was supposed to get rid of the worst dancers, but didn't work last year and obviously won't this year either! Why the BBC have continued with the format when the fans clearly don't like it is beyond me!

I feel compelled to watch it just to see if I agree with the decision...which I invariably know beforehand.

Actually I didn't agree last night - although both couples were poor enough to deserve the boot.

The main thing is it's popular and that outweighs my slight irritation with the excessive padding and dubious dance-off.

The dance-off is pointless and the guest artist is usually unmemorable OR memorable only for the wrong reasons. Bette Midler was.......hm, she looked GREAT for her age and that's the best I can say about her.

Put it back to Saturday. There's no drama for me by the time Sunday rolls around.
